Happy Tuesday, MIT!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Athens, London, OSU 4 MILER, and Boston finishers!!! I am so proud of your hard work this season. It was a joy to scroll through my feed and see so many sweaty, smiling faces sporting new hardware! I hope you enjoy recovery and bask in the joy of your accomplishments this season and weekend. You. Are. Incredible.
For those whose races are still ahead: Congratulations on your final big push on Saturday! I wish I could have been there to high-five everyone of you who hit a distance PR or a major training goal. You have gotten SO STRONG and SO RESILIENT these past few months, and now it's time to relax, taper, and prepare to share the fruits of that labor on race day.
This week on deck for education from Fit For Life Physical Therapy:
- The Importance of Big Toe Mobility - Chelsea Hall, PT
- Gluten Free Athlete - Rebecca Youngs, MS, RD, LD
- Marathon Mentality - Steve Hielkema, ATP Lead
I'm so excited for the fun runs we have coming up this week! Wednesday night we will meet at the Office and tackle some relaxed tempo miles. Saturday morning, we head to Land-Grant Brewing Company for a big Last Long Run Celebration with Cap City Half Marathon! Try New Balance Demos, run 6 or 12 miles, and then stick around for the post-run afterparty with D.J. SAMMY MACCHIATO!! THAT'S RIGHT. WE GOT A DJ!!
Reminder: We will revert back to 8:00am on Saturday, April 22nd for the celebration.
Finally, it's time to start thinking ahead to MIT Summer/Fall. Major announcements for next season will be coming in hot next week, so please make sure to read you newsletter on 4/25!
I'll see you all tomorrow. :)
Cheers,
Coach Hannah
