Week 14 of Training
Guten Tag, MIT!
I’m writing to you from Germany, still carrying so much pride for our teammates who raced this past weekend. Please join me in congratulating Coach Dylan, Lexi, Sean, Mac, Erick, and Lori! It was a brutally tough day (the hottest Berlin Marathon in history!), and yet they showed up with heart, grit, and resilience. What stood out even more was how they encouraged one another in the aftermath and that’s the best of who we are as runners: humble, courageous, and hopeful for what’s to come.
I can’t wait to see you all back out there on Saturday. In the meantime, Wednesday Workout will be in great hands with our very own Phil Gauer leading the charge, so make sure to show him some love!
🔥 Peak Week for Fulls, Build Week for Halfers
This is one of the most important training weeks of the season. The miles matter, but so do the choices you make around them.
-
Fuel well: Give your body the nutrients it needs to repair and grow stronger.
-
Hydrate often: Think of water as your most consistent training partner.
-
Sleep deeply: One of the best recovery tools you have is solid rest.
-
Take care of YOU: carve out space to recharge both mentally and physically. Do a face mask. Have a dance party. Enjoy a beer with a friend.
🦵 Injury Prevention & Education
This week we’re diving into the benefits of dry needling, plus a “train your brain” piece on the power of picturing success.
Trust the process. Every mile logged, every recovery day honored, every small choice stacked on top of another. It’s all building toward something extraordinary.
See you all very soon,
Hannah

Then, Dr. Heather Bechtel--MIT runner, marathoner, pediatrician, and proud mom of two--shares a powerful Train Your Brain piece on the art of picturing your success.
