This week we are celebrating National Women's Health Week! National Women’s Health Week is celebrated each year, beginning on Mother’s Day, to encourage women and girls to make their health a priority.
Ways to celebrate this week:
- Join us tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/17) at 6:00pm for "Women's Health Night: Educate. Empower. Engage."
- Read TWO new Fit For Life Articles on Optimizing Training for Females (Today, 5/16) and Returning to Running Post-Partum (Coming 5/19)
- Schedule a girls run or walk with your besties!

Join us this Saturday for a casual fun run from the Fleet Feet Headquarter Office & Trackhouse in Worthington! These runs range in distance and will not include pace groups or on-course hydration. Stick around for coffee and a chat with Coach Hannah, or enjoy a stroll through the Worthington Farmer's Market!

Parking:
We can use the parking lot behind our building OR the parking lot of the Remax Building across the street (870 N High St #100, Worthington, OH 43085). Alternatively, you can park at Thomas Worthington High School less than a 1/2 mile away. :)

celebrate National Women’s Health Week with two brand new articles. She tells us
more about Optimizing Training for Females and Returning to Running Post-Partum.

WOMEN'S HEALTH NIGHT 5/17 at 6:00PM.
EDUCATE. EMPOWER. ENGAGE: A NIGHT OF WOMEN'S HEALTH AND EMPOWERMENT!
Join the ladies from Fleet Feet for an evening of education and empowerment. Our Women's Health Night is here to shed some light on the unique health needs of women, specifically for active women. We will help provide you the tools to keep you moving through every stage of life!
Location: Fleet Feet Lewis Center
Schedule:

6:00 pm = Social time with drinks and light snacks

6:30 pm = Education sessions: Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, Nutrition-on-the-Go for Women, and Sports Bras 101.

Format: Smaller intimate groups that rotate between each of the three topics for a 15 minute session.

7:20 pm- 8 pm: Q&A with any of the speakers, sport bra fittings, social time.
Our goal is to provide a unique and informative opportunity for women in our running and walking community to receive education and empowerment on topics that are important to their overall health as an active runner or walker.
Education components:

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy presented by Kaitlin Hartley from Restore Physical Therapy. Kaitlyn will cover a general informative talk on pelvic floor therapy and how it is beneficial for runners.

Women's Nutrition presented by Rebecca Youngs from Fit For Life. She will cover general nutrition needs for active women living a busy lifestyle. Along with providing healthy meal ideas for women on the go.

Sports Bras will be covered by Carrie from Brooks. She will provide information on the importance of a properly fit sports bra.
All attendees receive a gift for attending, as well as a gift with a purchase provided by Brooks. Plus, buy one bra, get one 50% off.
Fun Relay Race Opportunity
Have you ever wanted to try a team relay race? Now is your chance! MIT Member Jen Ployer is organizing a team for a RAGNAR (Road) Relay Race in Michigan on September 22-23rd, 2023! She has 5 spots left to fill, and would love for MIT members to get involved!
Details:
Race: Ragnar (Road) Michigan
Dates: September 22-23 2023
Running from Muskegon, MI to Traverse City, MI.
What is a Ragnar race?
- It’s an overnight road relay race with a 12 person team covering 200ish miles across Michigan.
- Each team member will run (3) legs of the race about 5-6 miles a leg.
- 9 legs of the race have beach views!
-All runners welcome, doesn’t matter your pace!
- Cost is $137 for the race. There will be an additional fee for van rentals.
We have 5 spots left, so grab a running buddy (or two!) and join our team for an overnight adventure!
