Newsletter Week 11
Hello MITers!
First off, a huge thank you to Coach Jeanne, Pace Coach Randy, and Jesús for holding down the fort at MIT last weekend while Dylan and I were out! We're incredibly grateful for their support and hope everyone had a fantastic time on Saturday.
Just a few reminders/announcements as we head into the week:
Lost and Found:
If you left behind your AirPod case with a single AirPod inside, don't worry—we've got it! We'll bring it back this Saturday for you to collect.
Extra Mileage Reminder:
If you’re planning to run extra miles beyond the allotted MIT mileage, please remember to take your keys with you. Our coaches and staff are only scheduled for the prescribed mileage, so let’s be courteous of their time by ensuring your keys aren't left in the key boxes if you plan to add extra miles after MIT. :)
Ladies XL Tanks:
For those who ordered a ladies XL tank, they have arrived! If you haven't already filled out the Google Form to claim yours, please do so ASAP—they'll be shipped out this week.
NYC Marathon Contest Winners:

Congratulations to our 2024 NYC MARATHON MIT COHORT!
I am delighted to announce our 5 winners for the 2024 MIT | NYC Marathon Essay Contest. The stories told by these 5 incredible individuals resonated with our panel of judges. They were selected to join the team of MIT members running NYC. Let's get to know them!
Melody Kolman (TL):
Hi, I’m Melody! I am a dog Mom to my Great Pyrenees Ben, work full time, have a side gig Spreading Sparkle (jewelry) and in my spare time train for marathons! I am beyond thrilled and grateful to MIT and New Balance for this once in a lifetime opportunity! I cannot wait to share the NYC marathon experience with Coach Hannah and fellow MITers as well as to run this race to honor my late husband, Dave.
Matt Rhyand (TC):
My name is Matt and this is my fourth year of running with MIT! I've been a pace coach for two seasons. I'm so excited to be part of the NYC marathon and just take in the crowds. It'll be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
June Ding (TR):
Hi I'm June, and I'm in my fifth year with MIT! I'm also a 12:00 pace coach. I often travel to NYC for work and run along the piers near the FIDI district; can't wait for the actual opportunity to run through the most iconic places in the best city in the world. Jk, Cbus is still the best ;)
Kerry-Ann Mitchell (BL):
Hi! I’m Kerry-Ann Mitchell. I am Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and a mom to 7 and a 3 year old. I’m so excited to run my first marathon ever, and so stoked it’s in NYC with MIT. It will be my husband’s first time in New York, so I’m excited for him to see the city and take the kids to see the race. Looking forward to hanging out with you all!
Michael Petrovich (BR):
I am a Runnerd, TTRPG Gamer, Psychologist, Veteran, and former chef. I will talk your ear off if you want to discuss any of those things!
