Howdy, MIT!

Congratulations to everyone for completing the first 10 or 20 miler of the season at Run Columbus Run! We hope you had a fantastic time hitting the Olentangy Trail with both old friends and new ones. A huge shout-out to our incredible pace coaches—your dedication and commitment make our running community thrive. Take a moment this week to express your gratitude for their invaluable support!

As we take a well-deserved cutback week, gear up for next week's PEAK WEEK! The countdown to race day on October 20th is officially on, and we’re in the final stretch of our training journey.

Don't miss our special in-person nutrition information session with our partner dietician, Rebecca Youngs, happening on Tuesday, October 8th at 6:30 PM. This session will be a fantastic opportunity to learn how to fuel properly during race week. Be sure to check out the pre-reading linked below to get the most out of this insightful event.

And don’t forget—this Sunday is Gumpathon! Join us for a fun 6-ish mile run, sandwiched by a screening of Forrest Gump and some delicious pizza and brews. To join me for Sunday Funday, choose the Grandview TO Studio 35 option. Sign up is below!

RACE WEEK FUELING
In-Person Education Session with Dietician, Rebecca Youngs

Join us for an in-person education session with resident MIT dietician, Rebecca Youngs! She will cover the essentials for properly fueling before, during, and after your race this fall, and answer your most pressing questions about hydration and nutrition.

STUDIO 35 & FLEET FEET PRESENT:

GUMPATHON 2024!

Join us on Sunday, September 22nd for a one-of-a-kind running-meets-the-big-screen celebration of the iconic 1992 film Forrest Gump!

This half movie-screening/half quarter-marathon takes place at AND between Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse & the Grandview Theater & Drafthouse. Here's how it all works:

 

  • 8:00-9:00am - Registration 

 

  • 9:00-9:30am - Forrest Gump Screening Pt. 1
     

  • 9:30am-11:30am - Run 6.5 miles to the other theater location - Once you arrive, pick up your t-shirt & pint glass and enjoy a free beer before the movie starts back up.
     

  • 11:30am-2:00pm - Forrest Gump Screening Pt. 2
