Week 11: NYC MARATHON CONTEST ENTRY IS OPEN

Happy Tuesday, MIT Fam!

We’re rolling right through March, and our marathoners crushed their big 18-miler on Saturday—way to go, team! And to our half marathoners, you're heading into a build week—time to gear up and bring that energy! The weather is absolutely glorious, so make sure to get outside and soak it all in.

Exciting news! The MIT x New Balance NYC Marathon Contest is officially OPEN! See below for all the details on how to enter.

🔥 Speaking of New Balance, they'll be at our GRIT WORKOUT tomorrow with all the good vibes, the 880, and—yes—POPSICLES! You definitely don’t want to miss this one.

💪 Also, check out the latest Fit for Life Article featuring the Runners and Walkers 10—a list of the top 10 exercises we use most frequently to help with injury prevention and recovery. Keep your body strong and ready to roll!

🧠 TRAIN YOUR BRAIN - I can feel my mood shifting with the weather and time change --can you? It's time for a mid-season mental health check. Read Dr. Bechtel's article for a mental tune-up!

📅 Mark your calendars for RUN COLUMBUS RUN on Saturday, April 12th at Crooked Can Brewing! It’s our annual FREE community long run, and it’s going to be a blast. Both the full and half groups will have 12 miles to crush. MIT members don’t need to register, but if you’re bringing a friend, please have them sign up (it’s free!).

Details HERE.

Keep showing up, keep shining, and keep moving forward. We’re so proud of you all! 💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Happy Running, Walking, Moving & Shaking,

STRENGTH TRAINING AND MENTAL TUNE-UP

Fit For Life Physical Therapy

Everyday runners and walkers just like you are overloaded with information over social media and email lists about several topics including workout ideas, nutrition, and injury prevention exercises.

Fit For Life Physical Therapy clinicians have years of experience reading this information, looking at current research, and applying it daily to sports medicine patient care.

During our years of working with MIT, we have compiled a list of the 10 exercises that we use most frequently to assist with injury prevention and recovery. Now you get a chance to learn all ten!

And, Fit For Life Physical Therapy’s Chelsea Hall (Second Place Finisher at the Cap City Half and the Detroit Marathon!) has updated her hallmark article for Runner & Walker Strength Training.

Finally, Dr Heather Bechtel wows us with Train Your Brain’s Mid-Season Mental Health Tune-Up.

Fit For Life Physical Therapy are proud to be the Official MIT and Fleet Feet Columbus Medicine Partners.  We care for people of all activity levels — to help prevent, recover from, or rehabilitate athletic injuries.
